Recent Reads

Sacred Summits by Peter Boardman (1982).  Published just after his disappearance on Mt. Everest while climbing with Joe Tasker in 1982, climbing legend Peter Boardman describes several of his climbs during 1978 and 1979.  My favorite part of the book is the way about his time in New Guinea with his wife, Hilary, as his climbing partner.  He covers the nitty-gritty, not just the magic of climbing.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck:  A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson (2016).  Blogger Manson, in a book that can be filed under self-help, provides guidance on learning to live with how messy life can be.  Instead of always focusing on the positive, you learn about focusing on what's important to you and taking a stand, as needed.  I plan to read the book a couple more times, at least.  Thought-provoking.

Written on His Skin by Simone Stark (2017).  Sweet romance about a pen pal exchange between a deployed service member and a woman who isn't being comp…
